course information

The Elite Program squads are a part time training schedule specifically designed for young performing arts students who have dreams of developing their talent to one day working in the entertainment industry.

This course acts as a bridge to the full- time Tertiary courses run by PSA. These include Tertiary Dance, Musical Theatre and Performing Arts, which are designed to create fully rounded performers and cover all bases needed in today’s industry, from every dance style to vocal coaching and acrobatics.

The courses take a performers knowledge and technique to a new and higher level of training. With an emphasis on positive reinforcement and encouragement we aim to build a dancer’s confidence as well as style and technique.

Each squad will also compete in at least one Eisteddfod as a troupe. We will announce at the beginning of each year which Eisteddfods we will be doing for the year so parents and students can lock in dates.
Students can also compete as soloists or as a duet. New solos/duos are generally taught in the term 1 holidays and weekly cleaning sessions are followed throughout the rest of the year. We have the best teachers offering their expertise and choreography to complement each dancer’s own facility and style.
Whilst we encourage the dancers to compete in Eisteddfods, this is not the main focus of the year. There is a mid-year showcase, end of year dance showcases and the possibility of other events throughout the year such as The Dance Cancer Initiative and VDF.
