ARTS HIGH SCHOOL
High School of Performing Arts
(Year 7 - 12)
Arts High School is committed to providing a program that produces well rounded and highly developed individuals who seek a comprehensive academic education complimented by practical training in performing arts.
For the past 10 years, we’ve had a successful partnership with Virtual School Victoria (VSV), a registered State Government school offering the Victorian curriculum online. VSV is widely used across Australia by gifted students pursuing supplementary training, such as performing arts.
From 2026, VSV will provide academic education for our Year 9–12 students only. Due to changes in VSV’s enrolment conditions, alternative online learning options are being explored for Years 7–8.
New Year 7–8 students and current PSA Year 7 families are encouraged to download our prospectus (see link below) to help assess the best learning path based on individual needs, support, and goals.
We provide a safe and purposeful environment which students can confidently explore and engage with both an artistic and academic education. Currently, in the State of Victoria, there is no training institution that offers a high-school program like ours. While other performance schools focus on one particular creative discipline, we train our young students to be skilled in all facets of the performing arts industry.
Upon completion, Arts High School students have a broad range of skills to give them a head start in our full-time performing arts tertiary courses.
- Arts High School creates a conventional school environment ensuring students can study with optimal focus and minimal disruption.
- Arts High School allocates a total of 3 hours a day for academic study. For VCE students (Yr 11 & 12) there is also optional additional study hours. Our students can efficiently complete their academic studies during this period without any issues.
- Students will have access to a range of online material provided by VSV. Text and reference books are required for most subjects.
- Students may be required to attend some academic seminars, online lessons or practical sessions depending on their choice of subjects.
- Arts High School offers supervisors on site at the studios. Our staff create a conventional school environment, and are able to offer face-to-face assistance. Staff on site are familiar with the content of all units of study and will ensure work is submitted on time, to the best of our students ability, and in accordance with the rules set by the VCAA and the VSV.
- The performing arts program that completes the curriculum includes training in Acting, Singing, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Musical theatre and Conditioning. Please download the prospectus below for further information.

In 2026 our academic curriculum is provided by Virtual School Victoria (VSV) for year 9-12 students only. This model allows our students the flexibility to undertake supplementary performing arts training throughout their weekly timetable. Approximately 3 hours a day is allocated to academic study. For VCE students (Yr 11 & 12) there is also optional additional study hours, when extra time is needed.
For each VSV subject, students are assigned a competency teacher. The teaching faculty of VSV are qualified professionals with current VIT registration, proven ICT competencies and who have embraced the possibilities and challenges of teaching via distance modes. When our students require assistance or guidance these teachers are available via Webex, email or telephone.
Contact can be made to VSV from the classroom telephone at any time throughout the school day. Regular and ongoing contact between teacher and student is encouraged and expected.
Subjects that are delivered online are scheduled weekly. If there is a clash with a performing arts class, students are expected to listen to the recording. Subjects that require practical lessons that Patrick Arts High can’t provide, will be conducted on site at the VSV Facility and will be factored into their timetable.
The total cost for the 2026* Patrick School of the Arts High School program is $17,000. In order to secure your position, a non-refundable prepayment of $1,000 is due 14 days from receiving your acceptance. The remaining $16,000 will be paid throughout 2026.
